Position: Consultant of NGO and Public engagement (6-month consultant)

Location: Wuhan

Reporting to: Project Manager, Wildlife

工作范围

Main Function:

Support program manager on strategy plan developing, program implementation, partnership maintenance and donor network development of the Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program.

Be responsible for developing and implementing the public engagement plan for Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program.

Be responsible for demonstrations of Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program through platforms at home and abroad.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop a public engagement strategy with the participation of NGOs and the general public to achieve the Yangtze finless porpoise program goals, including the annual action plan for FY19.

Develop communication materials for the Yangtze finless porpoise program, including social media content, newsletters, press releases, factsheets and other content as required.

Support the implementation of communications and advocacy campaigns at specific time and events for the Yangtze finless porpoise program with PED.

Carry out the construction work of communication & public engagement centers in protected areas of Yangtze finless porpoise, and develop regulations for the centers.

Develop environment education materials applicable to communities, enterprises and the general public with the theme of saving Yangtze finless porpoise.

Plan and coordinate project visits, reception and orientation of the Yangtze finless porpoise program for WWF partnership.

Support the communication and cooperation with WWF international network and other freshwater dolphin countries.

Maintain good working relationships with collaborators.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

§ Master’s degree from an accredited university in communications, public relations/ affairs, environmental science or related field.

§ Good team spirit, well organized, can work under pressure and optimistic.

§ Quick learner, and eager to work in NGO environment.

§ Good written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.

§ At least 3 years experiences working on NGO preferred
